Wood filler was installed in a home in the northwest corner of the city in Woodlands Park that was condemned in June, according to the City of Woodlands.
The home in Woodlawn is one of two properties in the Woodlains subdivision that were condemned in connection with the fire that burned through the neighborhood on July 7.
The other property was the home of the same owner.
Officials with the City Planning Department said the home in question had an air-conditioning unit that had been improperly installed and a wood screen door that had not been properly secured.
“A building code violation occurred,” said Mike Stokes, the director of the Woodlands City Planning and Development Department.
“We took action.
We had a tenant that had an existing water meter in their house that was failing, and the water meter was not working properly.
The water meter would not come into service.
We made the necessary changes.”
The city said the homeowner was the last tenant in the home and was not responsible for repairs.
Officials said the homeowners home had a basement bathroom and a shower.
