A report from the World Health Organisation has found Liberia is hardest hit and Guinea is second hardest hit in the world.
It said a total of 12,726 new cases of the Ebola virus have been recorded in Liberia since the start of the epidemic.
The WHO says the Ebola epidemic has already killed at least 9,000 people, of whom 1,788 have died.
Liberia, with a population of 2.4 million, has suffered a record-breaking death toll with at least 4,700 deaths.
The report says the epidemic has caused economic loss worth US$1.9bn, a record loss of US$7.4bn and the closure of the country’s ports.
